The first two prosthetic prototypes for Daisy weren't working out too well for Daisy. She had a difficult time keeping her balance, and the more we practiced, reluctance grew. I began researching for alternative options and came across a company that specializes in providing custom adaptive devices for animals- Animal Ortho Care, LLC. I felt that I finally found what I was looking for. The only problem was that the total cost of the prosthetic legs was $2500, which was a price I couldn't afford. I asked for help and was overwhelmed with everyone's support. Words cannot begin to express the gratitude I have and truly feel lucky to be a part of such a warm, loving, supportive community. Thank you.
Our next step is to get a casting done. Once we cast Daisy's front legs, we send it back to Animal Ortho Care and they will begin making the prosthetic legs based off of that mold. I will be sure to keep everyone updated during the entire process. I'm very excited!!!
Thank you very much for following our adventure.
Lots of love,
Sheena and Daisy
